Exploring Outside

All areas of development are encouraged through play.

Outdoor play is important because besides getting fresh air and exercise, children also learn their gross motor skills. I encourage self care, allow children to take measured risks and play on a larger scale.

Play & Learn

Children love light and I encourage investigation of many toys and natural objects using this light panel.

Sand Play

I encourage messy play, the outdoor sandpit is a favourite. We also investigate with playdough, fake snow, shaving foam, cereals and rice, water play and much more!

Classes

Cooking

I encourage children to help prepare meals and snacks, this helps even the fussy eaters try out new foods.

We also grow our own vegetables, which we then pick, clean, cook and eat.

Quiet time

I have a book area both inside and outside. The children are encouraged to use these for storytime, reading independantly or if they just want a rest.

British Values

I actively encourage British Values and we learn about important British people such as the Queen. Manners are essential and I promote good manners and behaviour in a positive way. We also learn about different foods and traditions.

Out and About

I will with parental consent take children on regular outings. All outings are fully risk assessed prior to visits. I always take emergency contact details and my First Aid Kit even on the school run. I encourage trips to the local shops, libraries and parks in order for children to learn about their environment and the  world around them
